يكي از صنايع دستي تزیینی ايران "مُرَصَّع كاري" نام دارد و آن عبارتست از نشاندن جواهر بر روي وسايل مصرفي يا تزئيني (بيشتر نقره يا طلا) به منظور زيباتر و ارزشمندتر كردن آن. در هنر مُرَصَّع كاري زير ساخت اوليه كه مي تواند شامل ظروف تزييني، ظروف مصرفي و ...  باشد توسط دواتگر يا خود هنرمند ساخته شده و سپس با نشاندن جواهر، سنگهاي قيمتي و يا نيمه قيمتي بر مناطق مورد نظر بر زيبايي آن افزود. بديهي است سنگهاي مورد نظر بايد از قبل تراش خورده وصيقل گردند.
